Hello!

My name Is Jack R. and I am the founder of CLT Free Reads! Below tells my full story about this city-wide project I started!

My Story

Hi, my name is Jack, and I am a student at Charlotte Christian School. I started the project CLT Free Reads in 9th grade and have been working on constructing boxes and distributing them around Charlotte since then. My mission is to spread the ease the ability to pick up a book and read! I am working on building wooden 15 by 20 inch book boxes that I will then distribute across Charlotte. My places of interest are parks, schools, sports fields and more. My goal is to install 10+ boxes by the end of 2025. Building these boxes takes many hours each, but I enjoy helping the community. In return, I am asking fellow book lovers from Charlotte to help donate books that I can start to put into these boxes. My younger brother recently joined me and will be taking over the program when I leave for college.  So, thank you for your time, and I hope to see you using some of my libraries!

Next in line...

My name is Stephen R. and I am a student at Providence Day School. I am the successor to my older brother's mission to add free libraries in the Charlotte area. I currently help him while he teaches me the process for when he graduates and goes off to college. I will continue with the construction and installation of the libraries in addition to working with parks and rec locations, and local libraries for book donations.
